“Challenging racetrack.....in a stunning location.....”
For this the fifth meeting of 2014 we head to Isle of Anglesey for the tenth and eleventh championship rounds of the 14 round 2014 series. The Anglesey Coastal Circuit is one that most rider’s love, but being hung out on the top of North Wales the weather can play a huge part in the weekend.

This spectacular 1.55 mile Anglesey Coastal circuit overlooks the Irish sea and the Snowdonia Mountains and offers competitors and spectators something very different to almost any other race venue. It is one of the few circuits to be designed and constructed with an entirely new concept. They have taken full advantage of the undulating landscape with two hairpin bends and banked corners….plus the extremely popular corkscrew. Spectators are in for a real treat because the layout gives close racing, and the nature of the track offers a host of overtaking opportunities for the competitors.....entertainment guaranteed.....settle back and enjoy !!

This Meeting..... Anglesey (Coastal)..... Rounds 10 and 11

As ever at this time of the year well with over half of the season gone anyone who has half an eye on one of the coveted class championships, is in a tricky situation….do you risk all, and keep pushing for points…..or do you sit back and see what your challengers are doing ?. Each rider will treat this round differently.

The Anglesey Coastal Circuit is one that most rider’s love, but being hung out on the top of North Wales the weather can play a huge part in the weekend, so experience of the circuit is vital.

Phil Bevan is in prime spot for major honours once more on his ZX10 but Roo Cotton, Mark Compton and Darren Rumley on his very fast KTM are keeping the pressure on. 600cc action sees Max Symonds, Corey Lewis and Dave Manley in action. Manley has proven in the past that he likes Anglesey, so could this meeting see his maiden win in the 600 class?

Adam Jeffery and Mike Hobbs are head to head in the Pre-Injection class, with Aaron Silvester, Simon Low and Paul Wardell fighting over the Mini-Twins honours. Add to that Rumley, Dave Mackay, David Irons and James Harrison in the Thunder class and teenage Welshman on his 125 GP Honda, and we have the recipe for a great weekend for racers and spectators alike.

The Circuit.....

The Fastest.....

Phil Crowe still holds the fastest NG lap here at 1min 08.47 seconds, which equates to 81.49mph, set way back in August 2010 when he was riding his sorted Superbike spec GSXR 1000 Suzuki.

The Phoenix Open.....

This is the premier NG Road Racing series, and is again supported by Phoenix Motorcycles from Trowbridge. All the fastest riders of the meeting racing it out for one of the biggest prize funds in the country. The Open competitors have timed qualifying and longer races to earn their points for the gruelling 20 round 2014 championship, ensuring that the very best will end up as champion. Phil Bevan is back and on a new ZX10 Kawasaki to defend his title and once more sits proudly at the top on this years points table.......can anyone beat Bevan to the title ?

The 250 GP ACU National Championship.....

Once more we are promoting the UK's premier Grand Prix based series. These former 250cc world championship spec machines are pure race bikes and are designed with one thing in mind......to race. The main series is backed by The ACU and Dunlop, with 100% Suspension and Watchwood supporting the NG Cup, and the new pre-'92 series. Reigning champion Chris Martin leads the National series and is having a great year against former champ Ant Hodson and South African Phil Atkinson. Simon Hunt heads up the NG Cup and Andrew Sawford is in charge in the new pre 1992 championship.

One To Watch..... Mark Clayton… No144… RS125 Honda

Certainly a star for the future is 15 year old Mark Clayton. The young Welshman on the Refined Recruitment RS125 Honda has dominated the 125 GP/Moto3 class this year. He has taken four wins on the bounce and has only been beaten to the flag twice this year, and that is by Jordan Weaving at Brands Hatch (NOTE: Jordan currently leads the British Moto3 Championship !!!). His two no scores at Cadwell were due to the van breaking down on the way to the circuit!!….but he is still over 100 points clear at the top of the championship points table.

Mark will be in his element here at Anglesey as he and his 125 will be probably one of the quickest down the infamous corkscrew this weekend…. oh yes, faster than the 600’s and big superbikes !!!….. He is definitely one to watch……..
