Summer Nationals at Santa Pod Raceway on 28th and 29th June

The Summer Nationals at Santa Pod is the halfway stage of the ACU Championships and is held on 28/29th June.

Funnybike.

Has an international flavour with half of the fourteen bikes entered coming from Europe.  Gary Jones has 205 points lead over Dave Peters and Springspeed Nationals winner Eric Richard.  Making his first appearance of the year is Lorcan Parnell on the Storm bike.  Reigning champion Stuart Crane is hoping to have his new engine fitted to the bike.

Pro Stock Bike.

Points leader Len Paget has not entered, so reigning champion Mark Smith has a chance to take the points lead and is hoping to go even quicker at the Summernationals.  Alex Hope has got his cylinder head repaired and is hoping to run his first seven-second pass.  Ray Debben makes his first appearance of 2014.

Comp Bike.

Allan Davies leads Comp Bike after he won the Springspeed Nationals at Shakespeare County.  Phil Crossley is still looking for his first ACU event win and will hoping it will be the Summernationals.  Kevin Osman has had the top speed at both of the opening rounds of the championship in 2014.  Tony Clark has managed to repair his cylinder head and is another who could win this event.  Sean Mills from Big CC Racing has entered his Suzuki Hayabusa and Paul Hambridge has moved over to Comp Bike from Super Street Bike.

Super Street Bike.

Reigning ACU Super Street Bike Champion Graham Balchin leads the championship after winning the Springspeed Nationals at Shakespeare County.  Teammate Steve Venables who set the ACU et and speed records at the opening round of the championship at the Festival of Power at Santa Pod, will be on his new bike, which was built in the States.  Chris Reed is just competing in the ACU Championship this year and is in third spot.  Newcomer Dave Thomas will be hoping for better luck than what he had at Shakespeare County.  Also entered is the European FIM Cup champion Garry Bowe and Malta’s Luke Farrugia who has run 7.19.
