National Mintex Trophy Youth Time and Observation Trial - Sunday June 22

Richmond Motor Club

Nathan Stones and his team again stage the unique Mintex Trophy Trial at remote Hurst, near Reeth, in North Yorkshire. Forty seven Class A and B youngster will battle against the clock Scott Trial style over a twenty five mile thirty sections all moorland course. Many famous Scott Trial sections are on the route.

Gone is Billy Bolt who rocketed round last year to win the Mintex Trophy. Gone is James Stones. Both claimed by advancing years. James will be out and about on the course as a travelling marshall. In Class A Telford's Tom Minta and Scottish contender Stuart Mack could be the pace setters along with Andrew Eley and local boys Ben Tennant, Thomas Coates and Ben Simpson.

Class B is wide open, Sam Johnson is being tipped to win the class but Toby Martyn is not travelling from Truro to admire the Yorkshire landscape. Joe Faunthorpe will have a new Beta by the time this is in print so he must be rated. Tom Culliford, Jake Eley, Dan Storr and Ulster's Alexander Lennox are possible. Watch out though for the Tartan Army! Tyler Murphy comes down from Kinlochleven with Duncan Maccoll, Stuart Mack and Lewis Byron. Only two females start, Niamh Richardson and Megan Holdsworth are the brave ones. Eppelby's Matthew Allum leads the field at 10.00 am. Only competitors and travelling marshals are permitted on the course.
