Young Guns Set to Shine At Spring Cup

Young top-guns from last season, Dean Harrison, James Cowton and Jamie Hamilton will be all set to renew their individual rivalry and to show the established stars that they are a serious threat when it comes to taking the chequered flag first at the opening road race of the 2014 season at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough on Sunday 13th April.

The two Yorkshiremen, Harrison and Cowton, along with Ulsterman Hamilton have been very impressive in their early season on the short-circuits and will be endeavouring to continue their successes on the 2.43-mile tight hillside closed public roads course.

The Ian Watson Spring Cup Road Races will also see William Dunlop having his debut races on the Tyco Suzuki machines alongside team-mate and current holder of the Steve Henshaw Gold Cup, Guy Martin, who will be determined to retain the Ian Watson Spring Cup he won twelve-months ago.

Also making a welcome return to Oliver’s Mount is Ryan Farquhar who currently has 98 race victories to his credit.

The popular Ulsterman will be astride his familiar KMR Kawasaki machines and from his results at the short circuit meeting at Bishopscourt in County Down he will be keeping his rivals old and new honest when it comes to renewing his acquaintance with ‘The Mount’!

Oliver's Mount will certainly not be a place for the feint-hearted, once the action commences with all ten solo races and two sidecar races completing the programme.

Practice commences at 9.00am on the morning of the 13th with the first race scheduled for 12.30pm.

The bikers’ village campsite, adjacent to the circuit, will be in full swing on Saturday night with a disco and late bar, this is open to race day ticket holders only, who can purchase tickets at the main spectator entrance from 2.00pm on Saturday 12th.

Admission for adults is £20 with accompanied children 15 years and under free, camping is available at £10 per pitch per night for a tent or £15 for a motor-home or caravan. This facility is open only to race day ticket holders.

Further information can be obtained by contacting the Race Office on 01723-373000 between 10.00am - 4.00pm, Monday to Friday, or on the official website: www.auto66.com.
