Maxxis Motocross Champions Collect Trophies

Osborne and Bobreshev fly in to collect awards

So important is the Championship to teams and riders, both Zach Osborne and Evgeny Bobreshev flew from the USA and Russia respectively to collect their MX2 and MX1 awards at the Carole Nash International Bike Show on Sunday 4th December. Whilst "Bobby" had a little more relaxed time, Osborne landed at Heathrow airport at 8.30am and was wisked to the Motorcycle Live by Team Boss, Steve Dixon. When he arrived at the show, Osborne was straight onto the Black Horse stage to do live interviews with Paul Malin and was joined by Max Anstie, Bobreshev and Sebastian Pourcel.

Commenting on his year, Zach told MXGB that Little Silver and Farleigh Castle was his two favourite tracks of the season, before rushing off to sign autographs. Later in the day, on the same stage, he was back to collect his Championship award and Gold Number One Plate as MX2 Champion, whilst Evgeny collected his MX1 awards.

Osborne will be back to defend his title in 2011, whilst Bobreshev will have to contest the Italian Championship for his new team, Martin Honda. However, with the Italian Championship being concluded in early March, behind the scenes talks are in progress to bring the likeable Russian back on an individual round basis.

With the temperature currently minus 26 degrees in his native Russia, Bobby is confined to indoor training when he flies back on Sunday, via Amsterdam, before residing in Italy in the new year, when he will start riding
