For the first round of the 2026 Welsh Trials Championship competitors travelled to Seven Sisters for the Dulais Valley Motorcycle Club’s event. With a revitalised experts class of 9 it was former multi welsh champion and past Crynant resident Gary Jenkins who got the better of pre event favourite Llanidloes’ Hugo Jervis who was bike rusty having just returned from New Zealand which included an interesting stop over in the Middle East. Brecon’s Lynn Davies started his defence of his Masters title in the best possible way with a win over his main rivals of 2025 Gavin Richards and Andrew Hayward. In the clubman class Rhondda’s Julian Collins took the premier from Neath’s Peter Lewis and host club’s Julian Page.
On the Sportsman Masters route Dulais Valley club rider Justin Jones took first place and in the Sportsman class David Williams of the Vale of Towy club beat the only women in the event Neath’s Jenifer Huntley for first place.
