As we start 2026, the Auto-Cycle Union is delighted to welcome Newton le Willows Motocross Club back onto its register of affiliated clubs.
The North West organisation has been organising with a different permitting body in recent years but has elected to switch back to the ACU for future motocross competition.
Club Chairman, Owen Routledge, said: “We’re coming back to the ACU after five or six years away because we want maximum security, comprehensive organiser training, and better regulations. We met with the ACU at Motorcycle Live and it was clear the national governing body can offer all of these crucial components.
“Motocross can be a challenging discipline and, as a Newton organising team that’s relatively young, we don’t want to end up in the dock if something goes wrong. Running with the ACU gives us the peace of mind we’re looking for.”
Auto-Cycle Union Chief Executive, Matthew Edwards-Wear, is pleased to see Newton le Willows return to the ACU family.
He said: “We’ve done a lot of work to reshape our motocross offering for clubs in 2026 and it’s great that the tools and support we’re providing to clubs to help them deliver well-run, safe and exciting events is being recognised and valued.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Newton le Willows Motocross Club back into the organisation and to support another great club in the North West of England.”
