FOUR-ROUND WIRRAL 100 CHAMPIONSHIPS PROPOSED FOR 2026 – VISITING CADWELL PARK, ANGLESEY, DONINGTON PARK & OULTON PARK Background
In 2025 the Wirral 100 club (‘W100’), faced with a shortage of rider numbers and administrative officials, had to cancel its racing plans for 2025 – an unfortunate end to 70-plus virtually-continuous years of organising road race events at Oulton Park, Anglesey, New Brighton Promenade, Rhydymwyn and Kinmel Park.
However, as a temporary measure in 2025, the Club made arrangements with the NG Road Racing Club (‘NG’), for existing W100 riders to compete for bespoke W100 trophies at the NG events at both Oulton Park and Anglesey, with the aim of keeping the W100 name alive and at the same time marginally increasing NG’s revenues from entry fees to meet their rising costs.
W100 is now pleased to report that, on the back of this experience, NG have now proposed that this arrangement should be expanded in 2026 to also include the NG race meetings at Cadwell Park and Donington Park, and therefore to facilitate a four-round W100 championship for those riders who are W100-registered members. W100 is most grateful to NG for this generous gesture.
Whilst the details have still to be finalised, it is hoped that this 2026 W100 championship will enable the Club to re-engage with its former riders and attract new supporters, particularly those based in the North of England and Wales, who are keen on racing in a series at four of the very best ‘Northern’ circuits in the UK.
So, the plans in summary are as follows:
Championship rounds (including Friday test days) Cadwell Park 17th to 19th April (3 races) Anglesey 8th to 10th May (3 races) Donington Park 11th to 13th September (3 races) Oulton Park 9th & 10th October (2 races) Championship classes - provisional (to follow NG class criteria, still to be finalised for 2026): Powerbikes - four-stroke machines 750cc and above

Eligibility
To be eligible to compete in the W100 championships, riders must be registered as a W100 member for 2026. The annual subscription remains at just £25.
84 persons paid subscriptions in January, February & March 2025 and were accordingly registered as members for 2025; as the Club had no racing activities in 2025, it is carrying forward those subscriptions to 2026. If a rider is uncertain whether or not they are one of those members, they should email the Club’s general secretary Neil Broughton(w100mc@gmail.com), for confirmation. Otherwise, applications for 2026 W100 membership should follow the guidelines on the Club’s website –
