Fresh from his maiden TrialGP win in the USA, Gabriel Marcelli will be heading to Yorkshire early next year, with the twenty-five-year-old having already qualified for X-Trial Leeds that will take place at the First Direct Bank Arena on Saturday 24 January 2026.
Currently sat third in the TrialGP standings, the young Spanish rider has confirmed his talent both indoors and outdoors. Gabriel claimed the bronze medal in the 2025 FIM X-Trial (Indoor) World Championship for the third successive season to secure an automatic entry into the groundbreaking event in Leeds next January, with the series set to return to Great Britain for the first time since 2016.
The potential successor to his teammate Toni Bou, Marcelli has been closely linked to Montesa Honda throughout his professional career with him being promoted to the factory team after the retirement of Takahisa Fujinami ahead of the 2020 campaign. A first podium that year at X-Trial Budapest was the sign of things to come, since then Gabriel has rarely been outside of the rostrum places during the last two seasons. Only a narrow margin behind Jaime Busto again this year, Marcelli also kept Bou honest on occasions and given his constant progression his first X-Trial win could come in Leeds, which would add nicely to his debut outdoor victory in America.
