The 2025 ACU Eastern Motocross Championships, sponsored by Stebbings Car Superstore and Template Plant Hire, reach the halfway stage with round 4 of the seven round series at Lyng on Sunday June 8th. As usual we’ll do our very best to have the track in tip top condition as we welcome the region’s best riders to our neck of the woods.
So far this season it’s been the usual suspects battling it out for supremacy at the head of the
Expert Class with former champion Luke Benstead enjoying a renaissance at the top of the table arriving at the Norfolk venue. A win and two seconds from the three championship races at the previous round saw him leave Wattisfield with a 19 point advantage over defending champion Sam Nunn. Max Broadbelt and Shaun Southgate have both been in race winning form this
season, and with just 54 points covering the leading four riders, and 75 points available on the day. Two Norwich Viking experts, Calum Mitchell and Declan Whittle, could be the wild cards that could potentially take a big haul of points away from Cadders Hill, it’s going to be a fiercely competitive afternoon on one of the UK’s toughest motocross circuits.
In the Junior class it’s Alfie Geddes-Green who has been the star of the show this campaign with no less than six wins from the nine races run so far. Travis Bixby and James Wadsworth, who currently sit third and fourth in the standings being the only other riders to head the field when the chequered flag was shown at the end of a moto. Alex Christopher enjoys second place level with Bixby and just 9 points clear of both Wadsworth and James Rowell. Again, it’s going to be a hugely combative set of three races for the winners’ laurels at the end of the day, and probably not one for the feint hearted!
There is an entry of almost 200riders, a full 15 race programme including 6 championship races and support races for the non-championship race qualifiers. Practice and timed qualifying will start at 9:00 am, with the opening expert championship race due off the line at approximately 10:45am, followed by the first Junior Championship race at 11:10am.
Adults £10, children under 15 free, cash or card at the gate. Post code NR9 5QZ
