The NETT Championship roared into life on the weekend of April 26th and 27th with everything you could wish for to launch a new season — sunshine, perfectly prepped track conditions, packed gates, and buzzing crowds that rolled in full force throughout the weekend.
This weekend wasn’t just about the racing; it was something truly special. Before the action began on Saturday, riders, teams, and officials all came together to show their support for little Maison, posing for the media with a united thumbs-up gesture. The sense of community spirit was strong and set the tone for what became an unforgettable two days of racing.
Every class was jam-packed with full line-ups, drawing riders from all corners of the country, all eager to make their mark in the opening round of the NETT Championship. The racing was relentless, with incredible battles throughout every group, setting the bar high right from the off.
As Sunday arrived, the energy only grew. The crowds doubled in size, buzzing with excitement for Round 2 of the British Sidecar and Quad Championships — and neither championship disappointed. The on-track action was nothing short of spectacular. In between the British Championship races, the Club Championship racing continued to deliver, treating fans to a non-stop day of entertainment and fiercely competitive battles across the classes.
The sidecars were a highlight, with a thrilling battle for the top step of the podium between Brett Wilkinson/Joe Millard and Stuart Brown/Lewis Gray. Both teams pushed each other to the absolute limit, giving the fans a masterclass in sidecar racing.
In the quads, the showdown between Harry Walker and Mark McLernon was electric. The pair went toe-to-toe in an edge-of-your-seat duel that had the crowd roaring. It all came down to the last lap and the very last corner, where Walker executed a perfect move to snatch the lead from McLernon — a dramatic finish that left the crowd on its feet and begging for more.
From start to finish, the NETT Championship opener delivered everything you could hope for: action, emotion, and unforgettable moments. It’s safe to say the 2025 season is off to an incredible start — and if this weekend is anything to go by, we’re in for one very special year of racing.
