Coronavirus (Covid-19): Travel Corridors

As motorcycle sport gently eases its way out of the lockdown process, competitors / officials are beginning to travel to foreign shores to compete / officiate in international competition.

On returning to the UK, competitors / officials should be mindful of the UK Government advice/guidance regarding self-isolation when returning to the UK.

The latest information with regard the rules for self-isolation can be found by clicking on the link below.

Contained with the link is a list of countries and territories from where you can travel to England and may not have to self-isolate.  Those travelling are advised to check this list regularly, for example, as at 26th July, Spain was removed from the list which means that anyone returning to the UK from Spain must now self-isolate for a period of 14 days.

Included in the link is also information for other nations (Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland).  Competitors / Officials leaving / returning from the Isle of Man are advised to check with latest information issued by the Isle of Man Government with regard existing travel restrictions to the Isle of Man.

Roy Humphrey, Chairman ACU Ltd commented, “It has been said many times by our politicians, but to coin a well-used phrase, we are in unprecedented times.  That said, our competitors and officials who travel abroad to compete or officiate at international events, respect the up to date UK Government advice / guidance when travelling to and from our shores.  We also expect competitors / officials to respect the guidance and advice of those countries to which they are visiting.  The situation can change quite rapidly, as we have seen in the last 24 hours with Spain, so anyone planning to travel is strongly advised to check the latest government advice / guidance which at the moment is to self-isolate for a period of 14 days on their return to the UK unless the country they are coming from is on the current exemption list given on the UK Government website”
