Rupert Kimber and teenage passenger Luke Golding defeated Robin and Sam Luscombe in the excellent Welsh Trophy Trial at Rhayader but helped the series sponsors to increase their lead in the Luscombe Suzuki Leeds British Sidecar Championship. The Cullingworth father and son team now have a thirty point championship cushion over their rivals.
Reading school gardener Peter Dale with his passenger Harriet Shore took a fourth place which puts them in second place just twelve points ahead of Rupert Kimber and standby passenger Goulding. Chris Kimber is still recovering from his Cornish crash. Lancashire duo Kieran Hankin and Andy Cripps demonstrated their improving form on three wheels to win the Inter class from Daryl Dale and Hannah Etherington.
Huddersfield clubman contenders Nigel Scott and passenger Jay Ashley Hall also took second place and that placing has allowed them to take a three point lead over Robert Head and Aaron Jacobs. The class is wide open with the Mark Kemp/Ian Allaway, Paul Churchill/Kevin Parnell and Alistair Allan/ Nick George observation scores under a three marks and tie decider separation.
