Can Rupert Kimber and Chris Kimber again rattle the multi British Sidecar champions Robin and Sam, Luscombe again this weekend at the South Birmingham Motor Club’s double header at Burwarton?
The Rochester crew are not yet back to full fitness after their sickening Cornish crash. Landscaper Rupert had Luke Golding in the chair for the Welsh Trophy Trial as his father Chris is still recovering his rib cracking crash in the West Country. Tree surgeon Chris may ride or it may be Richard Webb in the hotseat. Peter Dale and Harriet Shore make up the trio in what is a lower overall entry than last year. Twenty two started last year but the numbers are down to eighteen for Saturday and nineteen for Sunday when Kevin Allaway and Arron Green.
The Inter class is wide open with Daryl Dale and Hannah Etherington just one point ahead of Andy Scrivens and Martin Lawford who are level pegging with David Tuck and Steven Chandler. Huddersfield crew Nigel Scott and Jay Ashley-Hall are making the running at the top of the clubman scores but Robbie Head and Aaron Jacobs will pose a threat as will Mark Kemp and Ian Allaway. Three championship points separate the top three crews. Thank goodness for the newcomers. Heath Dando and Josh Dando bite the bullet on Saturday in the D.K. Mansell. Even better news though on Sunday when Josh and Luke Golding start as newcomers. One thought though, this is the same Luke Golding who crewed Rupert Kimber in the Welsh Trophy championship event.
John Wells run the show and Tim Fairbrother plants the flags on both days. Those two characters usually produce cracking championship trials and this weekend will be no exception.
Just one change to the programme is that The D.K. Mansell fires up at 11.00 am while the Clee Hill trial gets underway at 10. 00am.
