Entry and ticket deadline extended for Beach Race at Weston
RHL Activities have extended the entry and advance ticket deadline for this year's Beach Race at Weston until midnight on 7th October, having just confirmed that reigning MX2 World Champion Jeffrey Herlings and Yamaha factory MX1 rider Shaun Simpson will contest this year's event.

The 2012 RHL Beach Race at Weston, which takes place on 13/14 October, will mark three decades of what has become the biggest event on the British off-road calendar.

Simpson, whose father Willie won the first ever race on the beach at Weston-super-Mare, is a former podium finisher in the race, whereas Herlings will be making his debut on the infamous dunes course this year.

"It's only in the last few days, just as the entry deadline was approaching, that we finally managed to confirm Jeffrey and Shaun for this year's RHL Beach Race at Weston," explained Gareth Hockey, Director of RHL Activities. "We know a lot of riders at Weston like to measure themselves against the professionals - and they don't come any more professional than Herlings and Simpson - and that it's the big name riders that a lot of spectators come to see. This is why we've extended the entry and ticket deadline."

"We'll now be taking entries up until midnight on Sunday 7th October, which will give everyone more chance to sign up to take on the likes of Herlings, Simpson, Brad Anderson and Tom Church around the infamous Weston dunes course. Advance tickets sales, with significant discounts on gate prices, will also continue until same cut off time."

"We have a strong line-up of pro-riders, but we're still working to bring even more big names to this year's event, the 30th running of the RHL Beach Race at Weston, and I hope to be able to confirm even more star riders in the next few days," concluded Hockey.

Tickets can be purchased and entry forms downloaded from the official event website at www.rhlactivities.com.
