Round Seven of the British Junior Supermoto Championship took place this weekend at Teesside Autodrome. The track would test the rider’s ability and stamina as they moved from the loose off road section, to the tight and technical tarmac section of the track.
The first race saw Daniel Drayton gradually increase his lead, lap by lap from Dylan Henderson and over the line Daniel secured the win with a five second lead from Dylan in second and Stephen Campbell in third and Tom Elam in fourth.
Race two would not be such a clear win for Daniel as Dylan was fastest off the line Daniel had had to pin it hard to get to the first corner going in to the loose dirt, he came off the dirt section in front but Dylan would pile on the pressure and these two riders would be inseparable throughout the race and despite Dylan being on Daniels back wheel he never made the pass. Although Daniel had set the fastest lap again in race two Dylan’s lap time was only a thousandth of a second different with less than a second separating the pair over the line. As with race one Stephen Campbell was in third place over the line and Tom Elam took fourth position, with both riders taking valuable points as the season was drawing to a close.
The final race was underway and both Daniel and Dylan wanted the holeshot and they were neck and neck into the dirt once again but Daniel would just edge out in front. He then very slowly increased the gap at the front; though Dylan was able to claw back some of that advantage through the dirt section. Midway through the final race Stephen lost the front and going down hard he struggled to restart the bike, loosing almost a full lap he would come over the line in fourth position. Daniel took his third and final win with a couple of seconds to spare, Dylan had a good set of points with three second place finishes and Tom Elam would find himself on the podium once again with his third place finish.
