Lyng Gears up for Round 3 of Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship. (Preview Video Included)

With just over two weeks remaining until the third round of the Maxxis ACU British Championship takes place the Cadders Hill, the Norwich Viking Club have been busy preparing the circuit. The Lyng round of the Championship has also received the valuable support from local Car Superstore, Stebbings of King’s Lynn.

Over the recent months the Norwich Vikings have been busy improving the venue for the event with the removal of a number of tyres around the circuit, along the re-profiling of some corners around the circuit. Other changes to the sandy circuit in Norfolk, include the removal of the large Oak tree at the top of the famous Cadders Hill drop, due to the tree falling down in the recent heavy winds and the introduction of a new Spectator banking at the far end of the field section. The new spectator area allows for viewing of around 50% of the track.

In the MX2 class Mel Pocock currently leads the Championship over Neville Bradshaw, with local rider Elliott Banks Browne in third place, who will be looking to continue on from his two race wins at Canada Heights. The MX1 class currently sees Kevin Strijbos leading Matiss Karro, with Shaun Simpson in third place. The Cadders Hill event will also feature the second round of the MXY2 Championship which James Harrison leads over Robert Davidson and Dan Thornhill.

Following the five week break in the Maxxis ACU British Championship calendar, many of the Championship top contenders will be looking forward to returning to Domestic action following the Opening two rounds of the World Championships in Holland and Bulgaria. Practice starts at 9am with the first MX2 race leaving the line at 12:15. For more information about the event please visit the Championships official website www.mxgb.co.uk.
