2011 Masters Grass Track Championship Moves to Swingfield

The Track Racing Committee would like to announce that following long discussions with the landowner of the Lydden Hill Circuit the 2011 ACU British Masters will be moved to a different venue. Following consultation between the ASTRA Grass Track Club and the ACU it has been agreed to relocate the August 14th event from original circuit at Lydden Hill, Kent, to the Clubs alternative venue at Swingfield, Kent.

Although work was well underway on preparing the track at Lydden Hill, the local Council had raised some issues which may have placed the event in jeopardy of running on the scheduled date. This has led to the decision to change to the venue as a measure of safeguarding the event and Lydden Hill venue for future events. It was decided that rather than risk losing access to the historic Grass Track venue at Lydden Hill, the Club will move the event to Swingfield, whilst they still have ample time to prepare the course to their trademark high standard.

By choosing this course of action, the club hope to be in a position to work with the landowners to promote major events at Lydden Hill either later in 2011 season or during the 2012 season. On behalf of the ACU Track Racing Committee the Chairman Mr Gregory would like to offer his thanks to the ASTRA Club and the Lydden Hill Circuit and hopes to be able to continue working together in the future.
