Its that time of year again. August Bank Holiday. Many meanings to many people. To some it’s the last weekend before Winter. To others it’s the last chance to do something with the Kids before the new School Year.
To the Folks in The Langrish Motor Cycle Racing Club it means “Ken Hall Time”. A time when the steep hills and valleys of the normally quiet Manor Farm at Langrish, are turned into the most spectacular Motocross Track in the U.K.
Home of The “Ken Hall Trophy” Motocross for the last 44 years. Probably the oldest continuously run motocross in the World. The members of The Langrish Club have once again put together a fantastic two day programme of Classic and Modern Solo and Sidecar racing.
Thrills and Spills are guaranteed to keep your nerves on edge for the whole weekend.
On Sunday 29th August we have the Classic, or as some call them Twin Shock Races. Solo and Sidecar machines from the 70’s and 80’s will thunder around this awesome track in an attempt to be first across the Finish Line.
Monday 30th August brings the Ken Hall Trophy Races. In the Solo Class we can expect stars like Zak Osborne and Mel Pocock and Jason Dougan on their Cosworth Yamaha’s, young Scott Elderfield on his Honda, Elliott Banks-Browne and hopefully Jake Nicholls and Josh Coppins. Put this lot together and your have “Fireworks”. Late entries should include Mattis Karro James Cottrell and Brad Anderson.
Now for the Sidecars. Stuart Brown, current British Champion, and Local star Scott Wilkinson will be fighting to keep the Ken Hall Sidecar Trophy away from Europe’s best.
Eight of the Top Ten Sidecar Drivers in the World will be making their way across the channel to try to capture the Glory.
All in All it should be a Great Weekend with all the brilliant Racing plus Trade Stands and a Fast Food Village, Camping and plenty of Fresh Air all for just £30.00 for the weekend or £20.00 for the Monday.
Come and enjoy the last break before Winter, Give the Kids a final treat before School and get yourselves to Manor Farm at Langrish. 3 Miles South of Petersfield on the A272.
Practice starts at 9.45a.m. and Racing starts at 12.00 on Sunday and on Monday Practice starts at 9.30 and at 11.20 we will be running the highly successful “Dash for Cash” for the Solo Riders sponsored by Warren Mechanical Services and for the first time ever in the U.K. a “Dash for Cash” for the Sidecar Riders sponsored by Fritz Hall & Son/LRS. Come and see this unique experience and join in with the thrill of Motocross racing. Racing will then start at 11.45.
