Minibike supremo Trevor Scott heads up an entry that is scattered with talent in all divisions, and that has produced some memorable racing in the two rounds that have taken place to date. Scott will be looking to extend his lead in the Open Midsize class after having topped the category at the last round in Cardiff.
The battle for supremacy in the 50cc Pro Mini division is a tight three-way fight, with just thirteen points separating first to third in the current standings. Joe Pyke holds the top spot at the moment, but has the hard charging Jonny Groves in close company. Nick Cole, who like Groves is competing in two classes, sits in third place following the first two counting meetings.
It is a similar story in the 88cc Pro Mini category, but here only six points is the difference between the top three runners. Jamie McLaren maybe the current pole sitter, but his single point margin over Lewis Blackbird confirms the pressure he will be under when he arrives at Doncaster. Again it is Nick Cole who rounds out the leading trio at this point in the season.
Incredibly it is Jonny Groves who sits at the head of the Superstock Midsize class, despite breaking his collarbone at the opening round in Essex, back in May. His lead is a solid twenty points, with both Josh Bisonnette and Rhys Davies holding second place, tied on one hundred and forty eight points apiece.
Paul Gipp leads the fight in the Open Minibike division ahead of Elliot Gardner and Adrian Williams. Gardner kept Gipp down in second spot in Cardiff, and will be looking to do the same this time to close the gap on his main rival in the chase for the title.
