John Mitchell European Quad Champion
Roy Barton, ACU Motocross Manager wishes to congratulate John Mitchell on becoming the very first European Quad Champion at the final round in France, 7th October 2007.
After securing the CCM MMX British Quad Championship for the second year in succession, Mitchell has also proved to be the dominant force at European level, winning 6 of the 10 races and finishing on the podium each time he has crossed the finish line.
Further to Mitchell’s victory fellow ATV World Yamaha team mate Paul Holmes secured third place in the Championship after finishing on the podium in three races and scoring points at each round.
The high standard of British riders competing in the Championship was highlighted perfectly with 2 further ACU licence holders finishing in the top 10, despite only taking part in 3 of the 5 Rounds - Richard Tordoff, 6th (1 win and 3 further podium finishes),and Leon Beda, 10th (5 finishes inside the top 10).
Roy said, “John’s successes this season are just reward for the effort he puts into his racing, living in one of the northern most points in Scotland, just participating in the British Championship shows total commitment. Succeeding in Europe, in a Championship that has visited Germany twice, Latvia, Hungary and France is an excellent achievement.”
