French sensation for Poacher
Young Frenchman Mathieu Tresarrieu is the latest world elite rider to sign up for this years International Lincolnshire Poacher, Englands No1 longtrack on the clubs newly extended 1,000 metre circuit near Skegness on Sunday August 27th.
Tresarrieu has been a sensation in this year's World Longtrack GP, currently lying in third place as well as impressing with the Redcar Bears speedway team .
Tresarrieu joins an awesome overseas line up headed by World Champion and defending Poacher Champion Robert Barth who will be joined by Teterow winner Enrico Janoschka and top Longtrack GP man Herbert "peppi" Rudolph with further signings to come.
Heading the home challengers are European Champion Paul Hurry, Belle Vue and England speedway star Joe Screen and Andrew Appleton who will be joined by 5th place man in the recent French World Longtrack GP, Glen Phillips, British 350 Champion Jason Handley, British Under 21 Champion Lewis Denham along with exciting young chargers Jamie Rogers and Steve Braidford.
With the mouth-watering prospect of 100mph plus action, Wainfleet promoter Reg Blackbourn reports the 1,000cc Sidecar Teams are also champing at the bit to tackle the new super fast circuit. With a top prize of £1000 for solo and sidecars for the first time almost all the top crews are already signed including 2005 Poacher Champion Rob Bradley and fellow podium men Paul Whitelam and British Masters Champion Rob Wilson. "I am sure that all riders and fans can look forward to an event right up there with the best in the world" said Blackbourn.
