Bickers plc strengthens its UK operation - Bickers plc has formed a new joint venture company with its long-term tyre supplier Cheng Shin Rubber Ind. Co. Ltd (CST). CST is Taiwan’s leading tyre manufacture with sales in 2004 expected to reach over US$1 Billion. The new company will trade as Maxxis International UK plc and be located in a new 3.5-acre site in Felixstowe, Brittan’s biggest container port.
The new company strengthens Bickers continuing commitment to the UK market with its long-term partner CST. Bickers have represented CST in the UK market for nearly 30 years selling most of the vast range of tyres available which includes not only Motorcycle and ATV, but also Car, 4x4, High Speed Trailer, Skid Steer, Lawn & Garden, Implement, Wheel Chair, and of course Tubes.
Maxxis International UK plc will have 2 trading arm; Bickers - concentrating on the motorcycle industry; and, Maxxis - concentrating on the tyres industry.

Bickers will continue to support our dealers with all of the products we sell today. Our sponsorship of the ACU British Maxxis Motocross Championship has seen a dramatic increase in our sales over the last 3 years, not only in Off-Road tyres but in other ranges as well; the Maxxis name is really getting around. We are looking to build on our growth and forge ahead to make Maxxis a recognised brand within the UK motorcycle market the same as we have done for DID chain, Vesrah brakes, GS Batteries, Motorex Oil, Fieldsheer clothing, Hagon shocks and others. In fact so far this year we have launched 3 major new brands Nankai helmets, Oberon accessories, Goodridge brake lines, in the Motorcycle market with more in the pipeline
We will of course be pushing tyre sales, but that is another side of the company we have had for many years. We have been building this side of the business for the last 10 years or so, selling Car, High Speed Trailer, 4x4, etc. Like the motocross market we have seen massive growth here in the last years with a concentrated effort-taking place by the whole company. Our Felixstowe base gives us excellent distribution to the UK with nationwide delivery available next day.”
