Supermono GB held it’s first round of the season over the Easter weekend at Cadwell Park. With testing weather the conditions were not ideal but entrants were good with 29 bikes on the grid.
This year sees our first ACU backed Supermono National Championship which is sponsored by “Titan Beds” & “Moto 12 Twelve”.
The 10 lap race saw Ant Hart get a great launch off the line but James Dutton made it to Coppice first and lead the first lap closely followed by the pack. Lap 2 lost James Dutton promoting Ant Hart to the lead with Jack Long, Joe Woodward & Mark Evans hot on his heals. By mid race Hart had a couple of seconds lead over Long and Woodward, the DD Racing team mates neck and neck battling for the 2nd & 3rd podium spots. Hart had found his ryhthm and was comfortably ticking off the laps with Long now a settled 2nd place and Woodward 3rd. Last lap mechanical drama for Woodward had him coasting towards the finish line but was denied a podium as Mark Evans managed to make up ground and beat him to the chequered flag.
Result: 1st Ant Hart, 2nd Jack Long, 3rd Mark Evans.
The club championships were hotly contested as usual. The “Evo Championship” saw 3 straight wins for the main man Mike “Spike” Edwards, and the “Clubman Championship” saw Antony Stroud take 2 wins and Martin Cockayne pick up the other win.
