NIEVE HOLMES OPENS 2026 CAMPAIGN WITH WIN AT ENDUROGB SEASON OPENER
Reigning British Enduro Champion Nieve Holmes made a solid start to her 2026 campaign at the opening rounds of the newly rebranded EnduroGB Championship, delivering a podium and a race win at the Jack Frost Enduro in Rhayader on March 28-29.

Now competing under the ET James Sherco banner for the 2026 season, Holmes will contest the EnduroGB Championship alongside the Welsh Open Sprint Championship and the FIM EnduroGP World Championship, where she continues to establish herself as one of Britain’s leading female enduro riders.

Returning to racing after the winter break, Nieve lined up at rounds one and two looking to build momentum early in the season. Day one proved challenging, with a mistake in a tricky rock section on the demanding Saintswell special test costing valuable time in what caught out many riders across the field. Despite pushing hard for the remainder of the day, additional small errors made it difficult to claw back the deficit, and she finished second overall in the Elite Championship Women’s class.

Bouncing back on day two, Holmes showed her class by settling into a strong rhythm across the tests and significantly reducing mistakes. Delivering a composed and consistent performance throughout the day, she secured the win to take maximum points and leave the opening weekend with confidence heading into the rest of the championship.

The strong start marks an important step forward following a standout 2025 season, where Nieve claimed multiple titles including the British Enduro Championship, before injury brought her campaign to an early close in September. Fully recovered and back to race fitness, she now looks ahead to the opening round of the 2026 FIM EnduroGP World Championship in Custonaci, Sicily on April 10–12 with renewed confidence.

Nieve Holmes: “Overall I’m really happy with how the first weekend went. Day one was a bit of a wake-up call after the winter break – I lost some time in the rocks on the Saintswell test and made a few too many mistakes, which made it hard to fight back for the win. But I felt much better on day two, settled into a good rhythm and kept things clean, which made a big difference. It was great to come away with the win and start the championship like that. I’m really excited to be racing with ET James Sherco this year and feeling good on the bike again after the injury at the end of last season. A big thank you to my team, sponsors, and everyone supporting me – I’m looking forward to building on this and heading into EnduroGP next weekend with confidence.”
