Believe the Hype! That was the buzz surrounding Mike Alessi when he turned pro in the States at Millville in 2004, and now, 22 years later, the hole-shot artist and most-decorated amateur racer & multi professional race winner has agreed to race for Team USA at the 2026 VMXdN Hawkstone.
Alessi, who will be 38 years old when the gate drops on the biggest MX race in the UK (and widely regarded as the greatest vets event in the world), is a huge accolade and addition to the race. He is an out-and-out racer and isn't coming to come second!
His career stats in the professional ranks range from a dominant schoolboy career to an illustrious 15-year pro career, with many wins in the 125, Lites, and 450 classes.
He is well known for his lightning-quick starts and aggressive riding style. He is now a journeyman racer who competes in Canada, Brazil, and other countries. Alessi will be racing a 2002 Yamaha YZ 250, supplied by BT Motion.

This weekend, February 15th, the British motocross season gets underway with the famous pre-season Hawkstone International event. The VMXdN team will be on-site all weekend up in the trade area, as will Ben Townley's VMXdN 2025 YZ 250 race bike.
