British Young Gun Drew Stock finished a tremendous third in the Yamaha YZ BLU CRU World Superfinale at Ironman Raceway in America on Sunday.
Racing in front of the huge Motocross of Nations crowd, Drew showed great pace and grit to fight his way into third and hold on to stand on the third step of the podium, only 7 seconds down on the winner, American Cooper Johnson, and less than 3 seconds back on Canadian Jonathan Bergeron in third.
Talking about his trip Stateside, which he earned courtesy of his fantastic win in the European SuperFinal in Sweden, Drew said, “Well what can I say! What an amazing weekend Ironman Raceway for the BluCru World Super Final held alongside the MXON!
The experience is one that I will never forget and so grateful to all involved Yamaha Racing the hospitality was spot on. Qualified in 3rd, Race position 3rd, had a bogging issue in the first couple of laps but thankfully it cleared and I could push on to make the podium
Thanks to all the supporters at the track and home. Hope I made you all proud to be British. Thanks to Altus Motorsports for all the help over the weekend”
In the YZ85cc class, Yamaha UK’s Nixon Coppins finished a great fourth behind Americans Jaydin Smart, who won and Tayce Morgan in second, while Blake Bohannon from Australia was third.
Canadian Chandler Powell was victorious in the 65cc class, taking the victory over American Tate Brush and Australian Hudson Francis.
