2025 Weston Beach Race – Preview & Event info

The 2025 edition of the world-famous Weston Beach Race is upon us as the North Somerset sands will be ablaze with two, three and four-wheeled motorcycles from the 3rd to the 5th of October.

In the solo three-hour race, which takes place on Sunday, all eyes will be on 6 times champion Todd Kellett who will be going all out to make it what will be a pheominal seventh win if he can pull it off, but the compeitiion is stiff and comes in the form of five time World Super Enduro Champion Billy Bolt who last rode Weston back in 2023 when he finished third.  Another tough contender will be Welsh favourite Ash Greedy.  Ash is known for his no-nonsense approach to racing and won in 2019 and was runner-up to Conrad Mewse, so he has what it takes to be at the sharp end.

Dan Thornhill was on the podium in third last year and is edging closer to glory, and Chambers Racing is a renowned sand expert, so could this be his year??

Rewinding to Saturday, the race action begins at 9 am when the Youth 125/250 riders take to the sand, followed by the Vintage race at 11am.  Then the Quad and Sidecar racers duke it out at 1 pm in a 3-hour marathon, where World Sidecarcross No3 Brett Wilkinson & Joe Millard will be looking to get their hands on the trophy, but they will have to contend with the likes of reigning champs Alun Davies and James Ferguson and their Team GB mates Michael Hodges and Ryan Henderson.

In the Quads European & British Quadcross Champion Harry Walker will start as one of the favourites, but he has to go up against 3-time Weston winner Jamie Morgan, who blitzed last year’s race ahead of 4X4 winner Steve Atkin, who is always super strong at Weston.  Zak Orchard was third last year and will be looking to go up a step on the podium, and another former winner, Oli Sansom, will have eyes on the prize, as will Johnny Kelly, who always features at the sharp end.

Leading the charge on Sunday morning will be the 85cc race, which kicks off at 9 am, followed by the 65cc race at 10.45 am and then the big 3-hour solo main race at 12.30 pm.
