The fifth day of racing at the 2025 ISDE in Bergamo, Italy marked the final full enduro day for Team GB. The riders faced extreme weather, with torrential rain overnight and throughout the day forcing organisers to cut three special tests entirely, while others and parts of the transfer were adjusted to cope with the conditions. Despite the challenges, the team delivered another determined performance.
For the Men’s Trophy Team, it was a mixed but encouraging day. Jack Edmondson remained consistent with another solid ride across the slippery, technical conditions. Dan Mundell also put in an impressive shift, but lost valuable time with too many small mistakes, which proved costly given there were just four tests to race. Harry Edmondson had his best day of the week so far, finishing 19th in World Trophy and 26th overall – a huge step forward and a sign of how well he is gelling with his bike. Alex Walton also improved on his day four results, battling through the pain of a shoulder injury and showing grit to bring home another strong finish. The team ended Day 5 in 7th place in the World Trophy standings.
For the Juniors, Sam Hughes shone with his best performance of the week, securing a brilliant 9th scratch result in Test 3 and finishing 18th in the Junior World Trophy. Sam Davies was set back by a few mistakes but still posted a solid result, while Callum Hughes once again showed consistency with another composed day. The Junior World Trophy Team finished 8th on Day 5.
The Women’s Trophy Team also delivered strong rides in challenging conditions. Nieve Holmes had a fantastic day, finishing 7th overall and underlining her determination to push through the mud and rain. Elizabeth Tett had a clean and steady ride, placing 16th, while Katie Walker rode well despite some of the heaviest rain later in the day, finishing 19th. The team placed 5th in the Women’s World Trophy.
Tomorrow marks the final motocross test, with Team GB’s trophy riders spread across the afternoon races. Once across the line, they will officially be ISDE finishers.
