Every Mission Starts With You – Including Those That Save Riders’ Lives
Air Ambulance Week 2025: 8–14 September
Air Ambulance Week 2025 takes off from 8–14 September, with air ambulance charities across the UK delivering the powerful message: “Every Mission Starts With You.” This national campaign, led by Air Ambulances UK, shines a spotlight on the vital role of public support in funding the lifesaving care delivered by the UK’s 21 air ambulance charities.
Each year, air ambulance crews are collectively dispatched to more than 134 missions every single day – over 49,000 annually. Of those, more than 8,400 involve road traffic collisions, including many serious incidents involving motorcyclists.
When the worst happens, air ambulance crews bring hospital-level treatment directly to the scene. Whether it's administering advanced pain relief, performing roadside anaesthetics, or delivering critical interventions after high-speed impacts, these teams save lives in some of the most challenging and time-sensitive situations.
Yet, despite forming a vital part of the UK’s frontline emergency response, air ambulance charities receive no day-to-day government funding, relying almost entirely on donations to remain operational. With the average mission costing around £4,165, every contribution makes a difference.
This Air Ambulance Week, we're inviting riders, clubs, and motorsport fans to support the lifesaving work of air ambulance charities. Whether by fundraising, donating, or simply helping to raise awareness, you’re helping keep these essential services flying – and ensuring that more people, including bikers, receive the care they need when they need it most.
Because Every Mission Starts With You.
