Grass Track has been an ACU discipline for 98 years and remains at the heart of our off-road activity. The long-standing relationship between the ACU as the national Governing Body and its Grass Track organisers and sporting members, remains fundamental to the ongoing health and success of the sport.
Following a succession of resignations in recent months from members of the TRC, the commission became non-quorate. In considering the best ongoing interests of the sport, the ACU Board have agreed to establish a Track Racing Working Group, that will take over the duties previously undertaken by the TRC with immediate effect, the group will also be tasked with more generally reviewing various other aspects of the sport. This measure is expected to be in place for 12 – 18 months as a transitional arrangement.
Reporting to the ACU Board, the group will be led by Peter Gregory, a former long serving chair of the TRC and ACU Director. Peter is well known within the Grass Track community and is both vastly experienced and widely respected. Also joining the group will be Dickie Staff, former interim chair of the TRC, Glen Philips, FIM CCP Long Track Race Director and Kirsty Telford, ACU Track Racing Coordinator. Given his new role as CEO of ACU Limited, current TRC Member Matthew Edwards-Wear will not be participating in the working group.
Applications from candidates interested in serving on the TRC and possessing relevant professional and sporting experience are still invited. The closing date for applications is 31st August 2025.
