Prepare for an exciting weekend of old-school motocross as Team England gears up to take the line at the historic Farleigh Castle circuit in Somerset on September 13th and 14th for Farleigh Castle Vets MX 2025! The Somerset GP circuit nestled alongside the serene river, has been the backdrop for countless legendary races over the years, and this event promises to be no exception.
Over the years, we have seen more than our fair share of legendary riders around Farleigh Castle, David Thorpe, Kurt Nicol, Rob Andrews, Mark and John Banks, Grahame Noyce, Neil Hudson, to name but a few. This year, some of our more recent vets riders are coming together to represent Team England. Fresh off the back of the VMXdN Foxhill, this trio is coming in all guns blazing.
Team Captain is regular national teammate and British Bulldog. Brad Anderson. Anderson is a seasoned racer who is no less determined now than in the youth ranks and has been a keen player in the motocross scene for years. Anderson has an impressive track record that includes numerous victories and plenty of podiums which makes him a crowd favourite. His duel with Clement Desalle and Sam Sunderland at the 2024 event was nothing short of legendary. He will be bang up for it when the gate drops you can be sure of that. Anderson has a pair of very well-built Steve Clitheroe tuned YZ 250's running the number 4 that have been shaken down at a British championship event, he’s more than ready.
Elliott Banks-Browne takes second spot on the team and comes from a rich motocross family heritage spanning three generations. His Grandfather John, who was a factory BSA racer who was vice champion twice (a broken chain away from a world championship) then his uncle’s Mark and Justin, both regulars at British and GP races. Banks-Browne made his mark at just 15 with his first British schoolboy championship title, the first of many British titles. If you have ever seen this guy ride a two-stroke, you will see that he was born twenty years too late. Steve Denton is preparing him an immaculate CR 250 that he will race at VMXdN Foxhill so he will be up to speed. He will be up amongst it for sure.
Third and by no means least is the only World champion on the team, Stephen Clarke. Clarke had a stellar career as a youth racer culminating with the 85cc world championship, he has spent much of his career stateside training at the Millsaps facility in Cairo Georgia where he tuned his skills. "Scuba" as he is affectionately known is a head down, hard charging, never give up racer who on his own personal CR 500 will be at the sharp end.
Cheer on Team England as they line up at Farleigh Castle Vets MX on September 13th and 14th.
