Event promoters ML Events are able to select two wildcard riders for X-Trial Leeds when it comes to the First Direct Bank Arena on Saturday 24 January 2026. Whilst the final decision regarding selection will take place later this year, two young British riders through their performance so far this season have put themselves in pole position to fill these precious slots.
Twenty-five-year-old Jack Peace currently holds sixth spot in the TrialGP series, just one point off a top five placing following a sensational debut campaign in the premier class. The Sherco rider has firmly established himself amongst his more experienced rivals this year and has narrowly missed on a maiden podium position on three occasions, with a trio of fourth places being his best results in Japan, San Marino and the USA. Peace also leads the British Championship and will take a healthy lead into the final round next month. Having already had the home fans on their feet at the DL12 Indoor Trial earlier this year, when again he came so close to snatching a podium finish, Peace would definitely be a popular choice with the public if he is one of the selected wildcard riders.
Peace’s nearest challenger on the domestic scene has been nineteen-year-old Harry Hemingway, who currently holds second spot in the overall standings with two days of competition remaining. Hemingway continues to impress both at home and on the international tour and is within touching distance of adding the Trial2 World title to the Trial3 World Championship that he clinched back in 2022. Showing maturity beyond his years and despite his tender age Harry already has gained a wealth of experience on the biggest stage with three typically gritty showings at the DL12 Indoor Trial much to the delight of his Yorkshire fan base. Adding Harry’s name to the inaugural event in what is practically his hometown is sure to meet little resistance especially if he brings a new gold medal with him.
An official announcement regarding the two promoter wildcard riders will be made following the conclusion of the TrialGP World Championship.
