GR Motosport is thrilled to celebrate a historic achievement by Chloe Jones, who made history at her home round, finishing on the podium at Round 3 in Donington Park. As the first British woman ever to stand on the Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship (WorldWCR) podium, Chloe delivered a performance that captivated the paddock and inspired countless fans across the UK and Europe.
The atmosphere in the GR Orange and Black paddock was electric, reminiscent of 1999 when Karl Harris, aged 18, raced in the European Superstock 1000 class under the same livery. Chloe quickly became a fan favourite, with her thrilling battles broadcast by Yamaha’s documentary team live from Donington.
Round 3 – Donington Park Recap
- Saturday – Race 1: Chloe qualified P5 and fought fiercely, breaking the lap record to rejoin the leading pack. She held second on the final lap before executing a brilliant last-corner move, securing her historic podium finish—third place—amid standing cheers from the home crowd.
- Sunday – Race 2: Starting from the front row after her first podium, Chloe led from Lap 5 until she was struck at the Melbourne Loop on the final lap. Though dropped off the podium to P11, she remounted to claim valuable championship points.
Chloe reflected: "After I crossed the line in Race 1 … the ride to the podium was something I could never have imagined… When I took the lead in Race 2 … I could see all the flags waving and the crowd shouting for me."
Brent Gladwin, Team Owner, commented: "The podium is more than just a result—it represents all the hard work, determination, and belief of not only Chloe, but the entire GR Motosport family."
