With the biggest vets event in the world, and one of the most anticipated races on the British MX calendar only four weeks away, the DocWob team are proud to release the first glimpses of this year’s team bikes.
Just three of the 2002 model Yamaha YZ 250's were kept from the 2024 event. The race bikes that were used for Ryan Villopoto, Mike Brown and Alessio Chiodi have been serviced ready for the race held at the iconic Foxhill circuit over the August bank holiday weekend with the gates opening at midday on Thursday, August 21st.
The team have sourced and built a further five of the 2002 steel framed YZ 250's and set about the full restoration and rebuilds for team riders Mike Brown, Phil Nicoletti, Ryan Sipes, Alessio Chiodi, Ben Townley and Tommy Searle, some team roster for sure!
With two bikes reserved for Multiple Dakar winner Sam Sunderland and TV celebrity and all-round daredevil Guy Martin to race at the Farleigh Castle Vets MX MX event held on its traditional mid -September date, with the gates opening at midday on Thursday, September 11th for riders and weekend campers attending the historic Somerset GP circuit.
Due to Mike Brown still recovering from a serious crash, the number 7 bike and team entry have been withdrawn from this year's event. However, Mike hopes to attend the VMXdN as guest of honour.
With 2025 being event sponsor Yamaha's 70th anniversary celebration - the DocWob crew worked with Yamaha Motor Europe on the white & red anniversary livery to keep in line with their official MOTO GP, MXGP and AMA teams released earlier in July. The only difference on the DocWob team bikes is the gold rims as a nod to the evo event.
DocWob said “With the recent full photoshoot for features in both TMX news and our event programs, as well as a video shoot for the teams own DocWob TV YouTube channel, there has already been a lot of interest in these bikes. The builds would not be possible without the help and support of some of the industry's finest companies.”
