The Apico 2-Stroke Festival and Red Bull Pro Stroke National has played a unique and significant role within the UK’s motocross scene since its first running in 2017.
The organising team of both the Festival and Pro Stroke National has continued to deliver on promises made back at the start of its journey, and evolved the event beyond recognition, while retaining the core traditional values originally implemented.
Each year would see riders of all ages, sizes and abilities descend on the event at Sellindge MX in Kent, determined to soak up and enjoy the atmosphere, have fun in a family environment, and engage in bar-bashing race battle with like-minded individuals.
Dave Willet, the promoter of the Apico 2-Stroke Festival and Red Bull Pro Stroke National had intended to, once again, fill the Sellindge paddock with the aroma of two-strokes, however, due to family health concerns, he has made the hard decision to postpone the 2025 edition. All riders who have already signed up and paid their entry fee will be refunded.
“We have achieved what we set out to do eight years’ ago, which was to provide a fun celebration of old-school racing, aimed at grass-roots, two-stroke riders and a weekend of fun for all the family. Having witnessed the event’s growth over those years, and welcomed new and old riders, it has been an extremely difficult decision to postpone the 2025 Festival.
“The Festival has been at the heart of our family, and we have had amazing support from friends, sponsors, trade partners, the riders and their families. I truly didn’t want to let anyone down, but I’m hoping that everyone will understand that family must come first and, for this reason, we have no choice but to take a break this year.
“Huge heartfelt thanks to everyone who has played a part in the success of the Apico 2-Stroke Festival and Red Bull Pro Stroke National. We applaud you.”
