The fourth round of the British Quad Championship roared into action under clear skies and warm sunshine at the iconic FatCat Motoparc. Known for its deep sand and demanding layout, the track had been expertly prepared ahead of the day’s competition, setting the stage for an exhilarating showdown as riders took to the circuit for qualifying.
Qualifying: Close Margins in the Sand
Fifteen riders lined up for qualifying, all eager to master the fast and flowing sand circuit. It was Harry Walker who laid down the gauntlet early, clocking the fastest time of the session and securing pole position. Close behind were Jamie Morgan and Dafydd Davies, with the top six riders separated by just fractions of a second, highlighting the intense competition brewing for the races ahead.
Race 1: Walker Charges Through
Race 1 got off to a flying start with Dafydd Davies nailing the holeshot and leading the pack into the first few corners. However, it wasn’t long before Harry Walker made his move, slicing through the field with precision and taking control of the race from the first lap. Once out front, Walker set a blistering pace that no one could match. Davies held strong in second despite constant pressure from the chasing pack, while veteran Paul Winrow showcased his class with a solid ride into third place.
Race 2: Walker in a League of His Own
In the second outing, Walker was quickest out of the gate, grabbing the holeshot and never looking back. His pace was simply untouchable, and he pulled away with ease, eventually crossing the line an impressive 31 seconds ahead of second-placed Jamie Morgan. Davies continued his consistent form with another podium finish in third, further solidifying his position in the championship standings.
Race 3: Hat Trick for Walker
With two wins already under his belt, Walker entered Race 3 full of confidence—and it showed. He stormed to another holeshot and quickly checked out at the front, leaving the rest of the field to battle amongst themselves. While Walker stretched his lead, Davies fought his way through to claim a third consecutive second-place finish. Oli Sansom showed great pace and racecraft to secure third and round out the podium.
Overall Standings: Walker Extends Lead
It was a perfect weekend for Harry Walker, who walked away with three wins from three races and extended his lead in the championship standings. Dafydd Davies took second place and Oli sansom finished the overall top 3, while consistent results from Jamie Morgan and Paul Winrow added to the excitement in the points table. Notably, Tom Day impressed with standout performances throughout the day, significantly climbing the leaderboard and marking himself as one to watch in the rounds to come.
