It is with deep sadness that the Auto-Cycle Union (ACU) announces the passing of Ian Dommett, who died on 12 April 2025.
Ian was a dedicated and highly respected figure within the ACU community. As the Centre Permit Secretary and President of the Cheshire & North Wales Centre—a position he held with distinction since 2018—Ian played a vital role in the smooth running and development of the sport across the region.
A proud member of the Winsford Club, Ian was known not only for his commitment to motorcycling but also for his generosity, warmth, and unwavering support for fellow riders, officials, and volunteers. His contributions extended far beyond his formal roles; he was a mentor, a friend, and a passionate advocate for the values of the ACU.
Ian’s passing is a great loss to our community, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working with him and knowing him.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Ian’s family, friends, and club colleagues during this difficult time.
