Great Action Continues at the ACU British Sidecar Speedway Championship
Round 2 of the ACU British Sidecar Speedway Championships took place on Friday night in front of a decent crowd at Somerset's Oak Tree Arena.

Some close racing was witnessed, but Mark Cossar/Carl Blyth were in devastating form. Only an engine failure in one of their heats stopped them from clean-sweeping the event. They even borrowed Shaun Harvey's outfit in their final heat and still won by a good distance.

The racing further back was close. Will Penfold/Ricky Pay looked excellent on their grasstrack machine, well on pace with the purpose built speedway outfits. Tris Winterburn teamed up with Billy Winterburn to put in a stellar performance, top scoring on the night and following Cossar/Blyth home for a well-earned 2nd place. Richard Moore/Carl Pugh had the most laps once again, for a second time having to qualify for the final via the Repercharge.

A problematic night for Paul Whitelam/Terry Saunters saw them having to go in the Repercharge, which they only managed, 2nd in. After all of his mechanical gremlins at the first round, Paul Johnson teamed with Cornishman Jason Farwell to put in a solid night's racing.

The next round is due to take place at Kings Lynn on Friday 14th July.
