Celebrate the Success of Joey Dunlop Foundation
After 10 years of fundraising, the Joey Dunlop Foundation (‘JDF’) holiday apartments were officially opened by Linda Dunlop and John McGuinness on Mad Sunday 2010.

The apartments have been designed and equipped to provide all year round holiday accommodation for people of all ages, with various health issues and needs. In fact, the JDF apartments are the only specialist holiday provider on the Island to have gained a National Accessible Scheme (‘NAS’) exceptional grading.

During the winter months, we would like to assist local residents who are between hospital and home. With an aging population, demand continues to grow, which was the catalyst to fundraise and build additional apartments.

On the 1st October 2016, Island resident and multiple World Super Bike Champion, Jonathan Rea, dug the first foundations for the new apartments.

With construction work scheduled to be completed in March 2017, the JDF team would like to invite local residents and TT visitors to celebrate our success and spread the word about our unique facilities. Sunday 30th April 2017 will be an official viewing day for Island residents. On Mad Sunday (4th June 2017), the new apartments will then be officially opened by some famous members of the Dunlop family. The official opening will be 3pm and is subject to change if there is any racing on the Sunday.

On Sunday evening, our long term supporter and TT winner, Klaus Klaffenbock, will open his corporate unit for the celebrations to continue. Tickets are limited and can be purchased for £40.00 by phoning Kevin on 01624 677741, or via email: kevinquirk@hotmail.com.

Trustee, Kevin Quirk, said, “The team of volunteers, our building contractor, Andy Faragher, Manx Gas and DLP have worked extremely hard to achieve our dream of additional apartments being operational by TT 2017.The afternoon grand opening will attract large crowds and the evening event will be time to celebrate, with several TT stars scheduled to be in attendance.”

If you have family or friends who would like to stay at our apartments, then please direct them to our partner, Isle of Man Steam Packet Holidays (http://www.steampacketholidays.com/isle-of-man-holidays/short-breaks).

The JDF team are proud to be associated with the great Joey Dunlop and would appreciate your support at both events.
