Low in numbers but high in class, that is the scenario for the long established Harry Perry and D.K. Mansell sidecar championship trials this weekend. Clerk of Course Tim Fairbrother will lay out a testing course for all four classes.
Expect Bristol crew Jon Tuck and passenger Matt Sparkes to extend their championship lead over Daryl Dale and girlfriend Hannah Etherington. Expect also Rupert and Chris KImber to be in the mix with surprise packets Keiran Hankin and Andy Cripps.
In the Inter class Robbie Head and Aron Jacobs hold the ace card with seventy five points while Jotagas team Karl Jarvis and Bob Chapman trail by fifteen points.
Eight clubmen start in what is a tight battle. Sixteen points over the top four with Simon Evans and Nick Harding holding a five point cushion over Chris and Robert Pickard who are one point ahead of Paul Fishlock and Debbie Merrell. The famous outfit Ariel has been replaced by a 300cc Gas Gas. Plant hire expert Thomas McDowell and Jon Stanley are the lone rangers in the Newcomer class so must win the weekend.
The sidecar weekend fires up at 11.00 am on both days.
