By Colin Bullock ROUND SEVEN of the ACU Events/TRW sponsored series saw the riders travel down to deepest Devon for the Rene Pearce Trial just outside of Torridge.
Last year the organisers had suffered some poor weather prior to the trial and this year was little different. The evening before the event a thick mist had descended on the entire area and you could not see the van next door. The recent summer weather also meant that the woodlands area which included section 1 - 5 were very slipper....

British Trials Championship Preview
The Rene Pearce Trial joined the ACU Events/TRC sponsored British Trials Championship in 2009 and returns for the second year at this level on Sunday 22nd August.
Devon is the fantastic setting for this Torridge & District organised trial which contains a variety of hazards that met with the thumbs up from riders last year. The venue is once again Brousentor Farm which is situated at Peter Tavy, Near to Tavistock and the post code for sat Navers is PL19 9NA. To think we used to find trials by following Castrol triangles on lampposts!
As usual with all of the Championship rounds in 2010 practise takes place on Saturday between 3 - 5 pm with the trial itself getting underway at 10am with the youth class being first off........

ACU license holders and motorcycle race fans are being urged to sign a petition to allow roads to be closed for sporting events without needing an Act of Parliament - a requirement that is holding back motorsport in England, Wales and Scotland.
The UK is losing out both in sporting and economic terms as a direct result of the law that requires an Act of Parliament to suspend the Road Traffic Act on a stretch of the public highway. Throughout Europe (and also in Northern Ireland and the Isle of....

By Colin Bullock THE weather had been reasonably kind in the run up to Round Six of the ACU Events sponsored British Championship round and the ground was in excellent condition at Brimham Rocks. The first half of the course provided a number of cleans for many riders but the rocks got much more tricky as riders headed down the track to the bottom half of the course. For the first time since round One Jack Challoner was back contesting the series and he made an immediate impact with a stunning f....

ROUND two of the British Trials Championships comes up this weekend a few weeks later than originally planned. It had to be postponed due to the FIM changing the Indoor World series dates.
However it is a trip up to Scotland that is on the cards this weekend for the Macdonald Trial held at Kinlochleven at The Mound right on the Loch side which provides one of the most spectacular backdrops to any sporting event.
Last year the organisers had a few problems with parking as the old school playground was no longer available due to re developments. This year however there should not be the same issues as facilities at the old site are available. All of the sections are just a few hundred yards away and within easy walking distance of parking. There will be three laps of 12 sections with three completely different routes for the Championship, Expert A and Expert B riders.

To all interested parties
2010 Under 23 Trials Squad.
In 2007, the ACU Trials & Enduro Committee made the decision to change the emphasis for both the Trials and Enduro U23 Squads more to the form of direct financial support for rider development. This system has been a great success and will be continued for 2010. This support will be available to a limited number of squad members rather than the method of home based training for larger numbers adopted in recent years.
While it is envisaged that some limited home based training will still be in place, the intention is to try to help a small dedicated squad in both disciplines to develop their potential with some direct funding.
The following criteria has been laid down for the Trials Squad.

Click here for Fixture List. If there are any changes, they will be mentioned here.
Since the last update the West of England Sidecar round has moved from 31st May to 29th May.
Mansfield Maun have withdrawn their Castrol Ladies fixture from the calendar. This was not part of the Womens & Girls Championship.
Lochaber & DMCC Ltd have withdrawn their Youth A & B Championship round. This round will not be replaced and the Championship will now run over 6 rounds.
The Spanish UEM and FIM rounds due to be held on 10th & 11th April have moved to 17th & 18th April and the Portuguese FIM rounds have moved from 17th & 18th April to 24th & 25th April. As a result of this Scarborough have kindly agreed to move their A/B/C/D Youth rounds from 24th & 25th April to 10th & 11th April. The Trials & Enduro Committee would like to thank Scarborough for accommodating these changes.
The Lochaber round of the ACU Events British Trials Championship has moved to 11th April. This is due to a late change by the FIM to the World Indoor dates.
Unfortunately due to weather conditions the Colonial Trial, due to take place on 7th February, has had to be cancelled.
