The seventh round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship tales place at Silverstone this coming Sunday August 29th.
With Evgeny Bobreshev (CAS Honda) (picture 777) and Zach Osborne (Bike It Cosworth Yamaha) now having established leads in the MX1 and MX2 classes, it is possible, although unlikely, that one or both of them could be crowned champion at Silverstone.
With the news filtering through that current MX1 leader Evgeny Bobreshev may be out for a few weeks with a punctured lung, Buildbase CCM rider Stephen Sword has a golden opportunity to close the gap - or even take the lead.
One thing for sure, the MXY2 (Youth) Champion will emerge, as the Silverstone event heralds the final round of four for our talented Youth riders and unless something dramatic happens (and it can), it should be the new LPE Kawasaki signing, Connor Walkley who stands on the top of the podium with a British Crown around his neck.......

Its that time of year again. August Bank Holiday. Many meanings to many people. To some it’s the last weekend before Winter. To others it’s the last chance to do something with the Kids before the new School Year.
To the Folks in The Langrish Motor Cycle Racing Club it means “Ken Hall Time”. A time when the steep hills and valleys of the normally quiet Manor Farm at Langrish, are turned into the most spectacular Motocross Track in the U.K.
Home of The “Ken Hall Trophy” Motocross for the last 44 years. Probably the oldest continuously run motocross in the World. The members of The Langrish Club have once again put together a fantastic two day programme of Classic and Modern Solo and Sidecar racing.......

ACU license holders and motorcycle race fans are being urged to sign a petition to allow roads to be closed for sporting events without needing an Act of Parliament - a requirement that is holding back motorsport in England, Wales and Scotland.

Round six of the ACU Maxxis British Motocross Championship, which will take place at the famous Farleigh Castle circuit next Sunday (15th August) has attracted all the top names in the Start List produced by ACU Events yesterday. In what may be his last event in the championship, Aprilia's Josh Coppins will be anxious to continue his recent run of good form on a circuit which will be new to him - as it will with many of the other top contenders.
The event also includes the first round of the 2010 Veterans Championship, where current champion, Rob Herring will face old rivals which include Greg Hanson and Brian Wheeler. The circuit will be very similar to the famous Farleigh Castle of the late eighties and it will be interesting to see how the current crop of top riders cope with a traditional circuit.

In warm sunshine, Event Manager, Di Thompson and the Series Paddock Co Ordinator, Chris Sprawson spent a few hours at the Farleigh Castle venue measuring the Paddock Area, Car Parks and Trade Area. Our photograph shows them both outside of the circuit discussing the Traffic Management plan after reporting the rest of the site to be ready to go.
The area known as the "International Paddock" will be for the non team trucks and will be in a prime area, next to the track, whilst the teams, (with their bigger units) will be situated just inside the main gate and adjacent to the "work area". After making the long train journey from Doncaster to Trowbridge (via Penzance but that is another story) Chris commented, " Having such a large flat area is good and of course we have to accommodate over forty Veteran riders at this event. The service road is a major asset and I am confident that everyone will be parked relatively close to the circuit, Waiting Zone and Work Area."

Osborne and Bobreshev the fastest, but Anderson fighting to keep his crown. That is the story from a superb round three of the championship held yesterday at Duns in the Scottish Borders region.
As our previous reports have indicated, Zach Osborne on the Bike It Cosworth Yamaha was unstoppable, recording five first places which included winning Q1, the Q2 Superpole and all three motos - virtually unchallenged. His main title challenger, Jake Nicholls (HM Plant Red Bull KTM) was not able to match the American's pace and suffering a mechanical failure in the second of the now customary three motos, loses his championship lead and the red plate. With an opening moto second, backed up by two very strong third places, PAR Honda's Martin Barr is now third in the title standings, sharing 159 points with Nicholls. Latvian Matiss Karro (MVR-D Suzuki) put in his strongest ride of the year so far, to snatch third place overall on the day with 6-2-4 race results.

LIVERPOOL SUPERCROSS TO RUN EARLY THIS YEAR
The fourth annual Merseyside stop of the Future West ACU British Supercross Championship will take place on November 27th, 2010, at the Liverpool Echo Arena two months earlier than its usual late January slot, " it's a good move for several reasons" commented Future West's John Hellam "the weather was atrocious in January this year which caused some problems finding and transporting dry dirt, moving the event to November before the US season starts will gives us more choice in star riders for the international classes, it also means the British Riders can compete in the Supercross Championship throughout the autumn on a regular basis giving more riders a better shot at the official ACU British Supercross Championship and the huge £ 40,000 + in prize money, it will also leave them with more time to prepare for the the outdoor season after Christmas.
Our eventual goal for the future is to have the championship wrap up before Christmas, we have a good working relationship with all of the major venues in the UK so in time as dates become available a pre Christmas championship will become a reality. At the moment it's looking like the London o2 event will be the only round to be run after Christmas this season, so we are getting close to our goal".

In a statement issued earlier this week, ACU Events Ltd, the Series Promoters, announced that three times World Champion, Mickael Pichon,(pictured) together with the teenage sensation, who is tipped to win the MX2 World Championship this year, Ken Roczen, will take part in round two of the championship at Mallory Park on the 21st of this month. Roczen will also be joined in the Teka Suzuki MX2 team by Swiss rider, Arnoud Tonus.
These three riders will be joined by a host of Grand Prix regulars on the Leicestershire circuit, which has been specially modified to bring the action closer to the race fans. The first round was staged near Exeter in Devon at the end of last month, where the racing was furious in all races. The Buildbase CCM team of Stephen Sword and Tom Church together with the Cosworth Utag Yamaha pairing of American Zach Osborne and British teenager, Mel Pocock, have all missed racing for two weekends in preparation for this British Championship round, which they list only second to lifting a world crown!
