Simpson Hat Trick as Karro Takes Over Red Plate

FatCat Moto Parc near Doncaster played host to the sixth round of the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship on Sunday. The superbly presented sand venue featured a completely different layout for the event, and even heavy rain on the Saturday couldn't stop the racing from being first class.

BOTHERS Alfie and Harry Walker made it a family double at round nine of the NORA-MX championship at Milton Park in Northamptonshire on Sunday where they secured overall wins in two of the club’s most keenly fought classes.
Fifth round of British Quad Championship Rescheduled

The organiser of the Cromwell Trucks British Quad Championship has moved quickly to reschedule the fifth round of the series after the original meeting due to host the round on August 3 was cancelled at short notice.

In less than a month’s time Team GB will be heading to Bastonge in Belgium for the annual FIM Junior Motocross World Championship and once again the event will feature three classes, the 65cc, 85cc, and 125cc. So far 289 riders between the ages of 10 and 17 years old have entered, stemming from more than 38 different nations and representing the six FIM continental unions.

With the majority of the Suffolk area suffering rain showers all day, the weather gods were kind to the Blaxhall circuit near Woodbridge on Sunday, as a bumper entry of 140 riders enjoyed an exciting days racing. The meeting included three groups of Adults, along with a line up 85cc riders.


HAWKINS EXTENDS CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD AT GRITTENHAM

Back on  Sunday 13th July the Phoenix Tools Premier Motocross Championship made its way back in to Wiltshire to Grittenham Moto Parc, Nr Royal Wootton Bassett for round 6 in the 10 round series. The track had been prepped nigh on to perfection and with mother nature coming in overnight to help and a couple of showers during the day it was to produce some high quality racing.

This coming weekend (20th July) the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship heads to FatCat for round six of the championship. The physically demanding sand track is sure to produce some interesting race action in all three classes.

Sad news that former European Motocross Champion Dave Bickers has passed away due to a stroke. Bickers was one of Great Britains first Motocross legends, and won the European Championship before it was given World Championship status.

TEENAGER Dean Colhoun took a fine victory at the fourth round of the Cromwell Trucks British Quad Championship at Stratford Upon Avon on Sunday, but it was veteran Paul Winrow who snuck into the championship lead for the first this year following another impressively consistent performance.

British Quad Champion Paul Holmes will definitely return to the series on Sunday at Stratford after he underwent a successful riding and fitness test on his injured shoulder last night (Wednesday).

Round 5 of this year’s championship is scheduled for 27th July at the Cadders Hill circuit at Lyng in Norfolk. Unfortunately, at the official closing date only 10 entries have been received byt the club. Please can all sidecar crews get those entry forms in the post straight away, or enter on-line at www.acu.org.uk, otherwise the sidecar class could be in jeopardy.

On Sunday 13th July the Woodbridge and DMCC will be staging a motocross meeting at their Blaxhall circuit near Woodbridge. This meeting will feature classes for Experts, Juniors and a 85cc class and entries are still available.
