Illegal Riding Thetford Forest – Zero Tolerance Bikes will be crushed

The Auto-Cycle Union (ACU), Norfolk & Suffolk Police Constabularies and the Forestry Commission in East England are to apply a zero tolerance approach to any user caught illegally riding a motor cycle in Thetford Forest.

A winter competing in the French Sand Championship paid dividends for Stefan Murphy at Hawkstone Park on Sunday where he took overall victory in the opening round of the ACU British Quad Championship to lead the series for the first time in his career.

The ACU are sorry to have to announce that Jim Webb, who as you all know was a stalwart ACU man, forever associated with the Asham Woods Moto Cross venue, passed away early yesterday evening (Sunday 1st February), after suffering another stroke last Thursday.

With one of the best rider line-ups in years the HIMX team are very much looking forward to the 8th February. The team have secured the World and European Suzuki Team to race at Hawkstone Park (SY4 4NA) next weekend. The Suzuki World MXGP riders consisting of Clement Desalle and Kevin Strijbos plus Glenn Coldenhoff racing in the Suzuki Europe Motocross Team will all be racing at Hawkstone.

Champions come together to Celebrate the ACU Awards

On Saturday 24th January the ACU held the annual Awards Presentation at the prestigious National Motorcycle Museums in Birmingham.  With Andrew Appleton coming into the room at the beginning of the Youth Awards on board John McGuinness’s 2003 Triumph Daytona and Peter Hickman entering the room astride a Rotary Norton at the beginning of the Adult Awards, it set the scene for a new look Awards Ceremony which also featured plenty of short film clips which highlighted the many ACU disciplines.   The Youth Awards were hosted by Gary Thompson and the Adult Awards was hosted by 9 times Isle of Man TT winner Charlie Williams.  During the course of the day over 500 people attended both Award ceremonies to celebrate the achievements of our Award Winners.

Nik Fisk RIP (Funeral Details Included)

We are very sad to announce the sad passing away of Nik Fisk.  Nik had been ill for quite some time battling against cancer and finally succumbed to his illness last night in a Hospice in Pineham near Milton Keynes. Nik was involved for many years in the Sport as a competitor, an Official and commentator/presenter.

The ACU MX Department is pleased to announce that the British EVO Series will remain the ACU’s main EVO championship for the 2015 season. After the announcement at the end of the 2014 that series organisers Kevin and Jill Spencer would be stepping down from the running of the championship the ACU MX Committee were keen to see this important championship remain within the ACU.
