Max Attack for Broadbelt at Blaxhall

Sunday saw the Woodbridge DMCC host their latest motocross meeting at the Blaxhall Circuit for an action-packed day of racing which avoided the heavy rain showers. With a full line up of 160 riders across the 4 groups and incorporating the 7th round of the NGR Championship.

After the qualifying sessions to determine the groups for the races later in the day it was time for the racing to start. Group A were out on track first with a line-up of over 20 Experts being joined by the fastest Juniors to complete the line up. When the gate dropped it was Shaun Southgate who took the early race lead ahead of Sam Nunn, while fastest qualifier Max Broadbelt crashed twice on the opening lap and had a lot of work to do. At the front there was a great battle between Southgate and Nunn, with Nunn taking the lead before a crash saw Southgate reclaim the lead and race win. Nunn finished second ahead of Tom Murphy who rode a solid third with Bayliss Utting fourth and Liam Bennett fifth. Kai Thorpe, Cullen Hawkins and Harvey Thomas were the first 3 Juniors in 16th, 17th and 18th.

Southgate would recover and reclaim second by the finish behind Broadbelt and ahead of Murphy in third. Fourth went to Cole and once again Liam Bennett took fifth, nearly missing out a drag race to the finish with Ben Cole. Thorpe, Hawkins and Thomas were again the top 3 Junior riders in the race.
