The ACU are saddened to announce the tragic passing of photojournalist and ACU Drag Racing contributor Steven Moxley who passed away after suffering a heart attack.
It is sad to report that good friend to all racers and the sport of Drag Racing that photojournalist Steven Moxley has passed away after suffering a heart attack. Despite the best efforts of his wife Julie and the paramedics performing CPR, he later remained in ICU on life support until the sad decision to let him go was made a few days later.
Steven was a total gentleman and so enthusiastic about everyone’s runs, times and speeds, he was a walking encyclopaedia of racers best times and speeds, and loved to hear about any improvements to their bikes, ‘strictly off the record’ of course.
He was one of the most cheerful people you could wish to meet, he never had a bad word to say about anyone and was truly interested in all the racers and the teams with his infectious enthusiasm.
The ACU’s deepest condolences go to his wife Julie and his children Sam, Abbi and Robert. The funeral is arranged for Friday July 7th at 3pm at Northop Crematorium Flintshire, formal / smart dress. Refreshments will be served afterwards. All welcome, no flowers but donations for Glan Clwyd Hospital Intensive Care Unit relatives’ room and staff comfort’.
Thanks to Julian Hunt for the photo of Steven displaying his usual dedication to promoting UK motorcycle drag racing.
