NG Racing moved on from Castle Combe to Donington Park with a number of the class front runners missing due to BSB commitments the next weekend unable to run at a track 7 days prior to the event and to a new resurfaced track over the winter months.
In the Phoneix Open with championship leader Max Symonds absent George Edwards was looking to make up some ground on the DCR R6 Yamaha but still had Dale Thomas, Jim Hind and Ricky Elder to contend with.
Race one saw top qualifer Thomas with the Suzuki 1000 jump off into a lead from Edwards and Hind, quickly getting into a race pace gradually opened up a gap over Edwards of 2.6 seconds at the flag with Hind almost another 5 seconds adrift.
Race 2 the same trio lined up on the front row and Thomas streaked off again stretching the lead from Edwards and Hind building up a 5 second lead until going missing on the last lap handing the win to Edwards from Hind and Elder.
Race 3 had different look to it as Thomas was on the back of the grid and only 8 laps to make an impression and set about carving his way through the field in pursuit of Edwards and Hind having a real battle less than a second apart! Thomas caught Hind on the start of the last lap and finished only 0.036 of a second behind Edwards.
IMS Open 600 was George Edwards all the way from qualifying to all of the 3 races taking the first race by an 11 second margin from the REPerformance R6 Yamaha of Ricky Elder and the second from Elder by only 4.2 seconds but then reasserted his dominance in the 3rd race to win by 8.6 seconds. Bevan Plumley maintained his championship lead in the HM Racing Clubman series with 2 wins and a second.
Bluebell Lakes Powerbikes was another dominant performance from Dale Thomas and the big Suzuki 2 seconds quicker than Scott Halliday's R1 Yamaha in qualifying with Chris Pope AFB R1 Yamaha in 3rd slot, in true Thomas fashion race 1 he cleared off to the tune of 12.8 seconds from Haliday with Scott Mcfarlane True Heroes Racing 3rd on his first race in the class. Races 2and 3 followed the same pattern Thomas goes the rest chase! Haliday 2nd in race 2 Mcfarlane 2nd in race 3, Pope keeping up his championship chase with 2 4ths and a 3rd. TW Suspension Streetstock 1300 was a triple win for Tyson Lewis to increase his championship lead.
The FSRA British Sidecar Championship was full of high-speed drama with the no show in qualifying of Peter Founds so back of the grid start for the Founds and Walmsley outfit in race! When the lights changed the founds/Walmsley machine had passed 12 of the 22 strong grid on their way to end up second behind Alan Founds and break the lap record 3 times in the process!!
Race 2 saw Founds and Walmsley at the sharp end of the grid to take the lead on the first lap from Lee Crawford and Scott Hardie on a brand new Christie Engineering Chassis and engine on its first run, these two were never more than a second apart for the 10 laps with Alan Founds in third just 2.6 seconds adrift.
SuperTwins was again the property of Brody Crockford on the Deardon Performance 660 Aprilia with a triple set of wins again Ducati Desmo was 3 wins for Dominic Cann and Elijah Everton in Junior Supersport.
