Important message for Enduro riders from the ACU Trials and Enduro committee

In these days of Environmental pressure and the need to ensure sustainability it is important that our Sporting rules on such matters are obeyed.

That said, our stewards and officials have reported some of these rules, which apply to all types of Enduro: Time-card, Hare n Hounds, Extreme, Sprint or Rally, are  being flouted, so as a reminder -:

Environmental mats – These must be used for any refuelling / Servicing activity whether in the fuel area, pits / paddock or at your van.

ESR.33 ENVIRONMENTAL MATS Where any refuelling or servicing of a motorcycle is being undertaken, riders must provide and use an environmental mat to protect the ground. These mats are to be removed by the competitors after use. The minimum dimensions of the mat will be at least equal to the length of the motorcycle and the width of the handlebars. An Environmental Mat should also be used for storage of Fuels, oils and Generators if place on the ground. Penalty for non-use of Environmental Mat is Disqualification of the rider whom machine is offending.

Power Washing – No power washers are to be used at events.

ESR.49 POWERWASHERS Use of power washers is prohibited unless the organisers have suitable facilities.

Tear OffsNo “tear offs” to be used at events.

ESR.20 TEAR OFFS The use of “Tear Off” lenses on goggles is prohibited. The use of “Roll Off” goggle systems where the transparent plastic film is retained within the device and not discarded is allowed.   Penalty for breaking of any of these rules is disqualification for the rider and possible lost of land for the rest of us, these rules may seem petty to you but they are protecting our sport for the future.

General Behaviour.

Once again we have received reports of illegal riding, this time in Cheshire and East Midlands region, which seriously jeopardises the relationship we must preserve with landowners in order to use their  land for our events. Do not use any land unless you have the specific permission of the landowner (your mate saying it's OK doesn't count) or if it is a right of way for motor vehicles, in which case you must stick to the track.

Illegal riding is killing our sport – STOP IT.
