New Medical Rucksacks for Billown Course

Emergency medical cover and equipment is vital around any road race course and equally so around the Colas Billown Course and Southern 100 Racing, promoters of the Pre-TT Classic Road Races and the Southern 100 Road Races are greatly indebted to The Rob Vine Fund and the Southern 100 Supporters.

The essential Medical boxes, sixteen in all which are placed around the Billown course, are at the end of their useful life and are being replaced by specially designed rucksacks, which will be lighter and easier to move and use for the medics and are being provided by the Rob Vine Fund at a cost of over £4000.00. The Southern 100 Supporters have fully born this cost.

Dr David Stevens MBE, our previous long serving Chief Medical Officer between 1999 and 2015, - with 31 years involvement in total who is a trustee of the Rob Vine Fund recently premiered the rucksack and it contents at the Southern 100 Media Launch explaining the reason for the colour coding of the various packages for use by marshals and medics.

The fully equipped rucksacks will be in place for the first time at the Blackford’s Pre-TT Classic Road Races on 26th, 27th & 28th May 2023.

Southern 100 Racing are greatly indebted to the Southern 100 Supporters who have fully funded the replacement Medical Kits and to everyone who donated funds in so many ways during the past twelve months.
