From 65cc to MX1 all the Championship titles have now been wrapped up here at Landrake Moto Parc , the season finale of the Official Revo ACU British Motocross Championship Fuelled by Gulf Race Fuels. It was an adrenaline-fuelled, action-packed weekend where there was drama and emotions flying all around the paddock.
The smallest of the classes the 65cc was some of the most intense racing we have seen all season, with Casey Lister and Marty Spires fighting for first place the whole weekend. On the Saturday the 65cc class rode three out of their four races with Casey winning all three races ahead of Marty Spires who contested him in races one and three and Arthur Moore who made a second-place appearance in race two. Cohen Jagielski the 2021 Auto winner and Leo Wilson also made an appearance in the top three but overall Marty took home the British Championship title.
The SW85 class provided what was called “some of the best racing in the youth class in years” It all came down to the last race on the Sunday for the Championship contenders Hayden Statt and Robbie Daly who throughout the whole race were seconds away from each other. Right to the very end it came down to the last corner, Hayden was calm and collected and pulled through on top and was crowned British Champion.
It was Billy Askews’ time to shine in the BW85 class, all the work and effort he put in this season was wrapped up on the Saturday of the event as he was crowned British Champion ahead of Josh Vail and Charlie Richmond, who both put up a fight. Despite Josh bringing home more points this round it was Billy who remained consistent with his points throughout the season and pulled ahead just slightly. With all three rounding off the podium at Landrake it was a nice sight to see after a long season of racing.
The 125cc Championship was all wrapped up at Whitby by Charlie Heyman a round early, allowing Heyman to compete in the MX2 class, leaving the podium up for grabs. We saw the riders grab this chance at the podium and wildcards Wal Beaney and Louis Vincent were top two on the podium with Wal rounding off the season with a race win ahead of GRT Impact KTM rider Ollie Colmer.
In the 250cc class the title was still to play for as Tyler Westcott and Jak Taylor were fighting it out for the top spot. Westcott stole the first two race wins, which put him out of reach for Taylor and in the spotlight for the Championship Title. In the overall weekend results Jak Taylor fought hard and came first overall on the podium after Westcott retired on the Saturday. Domonic Newbury came in second and Ben Zeale rounded off his season on a high note on the podium for the first time in third.
At Whitby the MX2 championship title was wrapped up by Conrad Mewse, who at Landrake rode in the MX1 class. Mewse had dominated all season, and this gave the other front runners a chance to be top step on the podium. It was GRT Impact KTM rider Jamie Carpenter who we saw take overall first in the Expert MX2 and MX2 class tied on points with Revo Seven Kawasaki rider Dylan Walsh it came down to the last race which Carpenter held. Third on the podium was SC Sporthomes rider Jorgen Matthias Talviku who’s second time on the podium was a nice way for the team to round off the season.
The highly anticipated MX1 class was truly the race to watch. With the head-to-head battle for Tommy Searle and Harri Kullas going down to the final race. Harri stormed the first race and was overcome with support heading into the second but surprisingly for the Cab Screens rider Josh Gilbert, who has frequently been seen on the podium over the past season, stole the win from under Harri and Tommy. This left it clear for Tommy to take the title with an 8 point lead.
