Statement from Southern 100 MCRC Ltd AGM

Club Chairman George Peach made the following statement during his annual report at the Club’s Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 23rd February 2022

Following an in-depth review of the ever-increasing challenges faced by the Club, in organising and running its motorcycle racing meetings, and after ongoing discussions, and consultations with the Department for Enterprise, the Department, made the decision to appoint ACU Events Ltd as the Official Race Organisers for all the road race events on the Island, including our three meetings along with the TT and Manx Grand Prix.

2022 will be a transition year with our Race Control team showing the ACU Events Team how our meetings are run.

The Club will continue to retain ownership of our events and continue to manage the race administration, including entries.

We are extremely proud of our events and have taken this decision to ensure the continuation of motorcycle racing on the Billown Circuit.

With Insurance being a tremendous burden on the Club we are extremely grateful to the Department for Enterprise for their valued support in this area.

The Club remain fully committed to continue the tradition of the friendly races into a successful future.
